Designed with care. Walked on your own terms.
Foundational Journeys | Expeditionary Journeys | Independent Journeys
Structured. Self-Reliant. Deliberate.
Independent journeys are designed for experienced travellers who want to move through serious terrain without direct leadership — but without organising every detail alone.
These are defined traverses with logistics arranged in advance, allowing you to focus on movement and decision-making rather than administration.
What’s Included
Each journey has a clearly defined structure.
Typically this includes:
- Pre-journey briefing and route overview
- Route documentation and mapping
- Accommodation booked for the duration of the journey
- Half board where specified
- Private transfers where appropriate
The precise inclusions are stated on each individual journey page.

What’s Not Included
Independent journeys do not include:
- Any form of guiding or instruction
- Flights
- Transport to the start and from the finish (unless stated)
- Lift passes where required
- Drinks and personal food purchases
- Public transport beyond the stated itinerary
This ensures clarity and flexibility.
In the Field
Once underway, the responsibility for daily decisions rests with you.
You manage pacing, weather judgement and timing. The structure is provided; the movement is yours.
Independent journeys demand honesty about capability. They offer the satisfaction of carrying the weight of your own decisions in dramatic and rewarding terrain.
