coldSTONE Expeditions carry capability into longer, more committing terrain.
These are small-group, multi-day journeys with a defined format — guided traverses, guided rock climbing lines, or self-supported instructional expeditions.
Preparation begins before arrival. We discuss route structure, likely conditions, pacing and equipment so that once underway, attention can remain on steady movement through the landscape.
Over several days, terrain, weather and fatigue shape decisions. Efficiency and composure matter across the whole arc of the journey.
The objective is simple: move well through demanding ground, day after day.
How Expeditions Work
Guided Expeditions
Professional leadership in real terrain over multiple days.
On walking traverses, we manage route decisions and daily coordination. On climbing expeditions, we guide classic routes and link them into coherent multi-day lines.
These are guided journeys, not skills courses. The focus is sustained movement through the landscape with small groups and clear structure.
Mentored Expeditions
Multi-day journeys on which participants are mentored by experienced Mountain Leaders, carry their own equipment and develop the skills required for sustained travel in serious terrain.
Pacing, load management, camp craft and navigation are refined through the demands of the route itself.
These journeys build long-distance capability while travelling through real ground.
